Chasing the dream is free, but the hustle is sold separately

07 Jul Chasing the dream is free, but the hustle is sold separately

I saw this quote on a friend’s site the other day and I really thought it was appropriate.  Warren Design & Build is chasing the dream.  The dream of being a BIG design and build firm.  It used to seem a long way off, but now it is feeling closer and closer.  As the quote says, the dream is free, but we are only getting closer because of lots of hustle.

What are we doing?

  • We are now working on repeat builds (this means doing a previous job again) for multiple customers.  What does this mean?  First, it means that customers are coming back because the liked what they got the first time.  Second, it means we are busy.  Third, it means we are getting better.  We all learn from our previous lessons and the repeat builds are making us a better company with better processes.
  • We are expanding our customer base.  Really, this is the incredible part.  We now have about 25 customers.  Think about that.  We started with one last year and now we have about 25.  And that is not slowing down.
  • Our order book is getting bigger and longer.  This means we will probably need to get more people.
  • Our pipeline of business opportunities has absolutely exploded.  It is at $4,000,000.  And this is not a dream.  These are high probability opportunities.

What technologies are we working in?

  • Our biggest application to date has been the use of vision recognition systems.  This involves movement of motors to locations based on data acquired through vision.  We are using this for multiple end uses.
  • System integration applications.  This is generally the installation of electronic drives, motors, robots or other complex items which require electrical programming.  Many times, manufacturers and distributors of these electrical products do NOT have the field personnel to install them and program them for the end users site.  This is what we do for our customers.
  • Design and build of machines to automate processes, such as:  movement of materials on conveyors, cutting applications for factories, painting systems to fit in conveyors, testing equipment (like testing vacuum for pipes), soldering stations for wires.

What industries are we working in?

wood packaging consumables, automotive, food packaging, steel, films, large consumer goods, memorialization, metal stamping, extrusion, plastics, forged components, furniture, titanium.  You can see that we cover a wide range of industries that need design and need automation.

It is an exciting time and an exciting ride.  The pace is quickening and we are optimistic about what our future holds.  We would love to answer questions or visit your site to see how we could add YOU to our customer list.

Thank you.  If you have questions, please email me
