It’s funny how things work out

26 Jan It’s funny how things work out

It’s amazing how much can change in a couple of years.  Two years ago, my former company changed courses on me and we separated.  They decided to sell the bulk of everything that we had built over a 6 year period.  Before that happened, I thought the job was the perfect fit and then it turned upside down.   Sometimes that is just life.  But that change gave me a chance to find this business.  If they had not sold out, I probably never would have found this business.

It’s a good life story.  Sometimes a door needs to close before the next one can open.  Like my life story, we have had a similar change occurring in our customer base here at Warren Design & Build.  What does Warren Design & Build have cooking?

First, we have a great new partner that has actually become our biggest customer in less than 3 months.  This partner has allowed us to grow and has actually discussed investing in our organization to become a partner and a group that could fill the capacity of the business.  It’s a good problem and a strong partner.  We just need to do our best to fill the orders that they have already placed for January and February.  I feel great and the team feels great about this work.

Second, we have a very strong list of electrical partners growing.  Our book of electrical business seems to be filling for February and beyond.  This business was traditionally was based on mechanical builds.  Rod Summerfield is doing a great job of filling our electrical team with new system integration business from many manufacturers of electrical equipment.  This is extremely exciting and promises to be at least as big as the mechanical business.

Third, our core business continues to grow and gain momentum.  What does this mean?  It means that our prospect list continues to get bigger and bigger.  It means that we need to hire more people.  It means that the business is getting healthier daily.  It is exciting.  It is fun.  I see it and our team sees it.  The building is overflowing with optimism.

We are blessed.   I have a great team that I enjoy working with.  We are a dynamic and exciting business.  It is fun to see the growth every day.  If you know anyone that needs engineering support or automation design, please pass along our name or website.  We are always looking for new partners.
